“Our goal is to facilitate great care and quality interactions with patients,” explained Adam Jackson,” CEO of Doctor On Demand. “Patients appreciate the attentiveness, focus, and care given by Doctor on Demand Physicians.” From Adam’s perspective, few companies and institutions in the healthcare space focus on providing a great consumer experience. Doctor On Demand is an example of a company trying to make healthcare more consumer-centric.

The Kaiser Permanente IT Summit is a forum for leaders in the healthcare industry to discuss the most pressing healthcare issues of our time and acknowledge the key players in the healthcare space. David Pogue, the former NY Times Technology Columnist, gave a keynote speech about how technology is progressively becoming increasingly consumer friendly.

The panel included Scott Matthews of Castlight Health, Doctor on Demand’s newest partner. Also in attendance was Ron Gutman of HealthTap, and John Adractas of Simplee.

Key takeaways:

•The rising cost of Healthcare brings Healthcare issues and concerns to the forefront of consumer concern.

•Telemedicine companies exists to provide convenient, affordable, quality healthcare to patients who otherwise would not have access. They can compliment a patient’s current healthcare plan.

•Patient trust and feedback is key to a growing successful healthcare service.
