Dr. Amy Halanski attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and completed her pediatric residency at the Childrens Hospital of Michigan, Detroit, MI. She then completely changed work environments from inner city Detroit to rural Wisconsin, becoming the first pediatrician on staff at a small hospital. During that time, she learned how hard farmers work and how big a dairy cow really is!
Since she has had the privilege of helping people from varying levels of socio-economic levels and cultures, she has become good at “her practice of medicine.” She knows the best doctor-patient relationship is one of compassion with clear communication as well as a healthy dose of smiling. Being a great listener and observer is part of the job!
As a physician, she loves being able to help you through DOD. She loves being able to provide care to you when you need it at a time when other options are untenable. She’s met a trucker on the road, a soldier stationed overseas, Americans traveling away from home as well as foreign nationals who want a second opinion. She enjoys helping you young ones as well as you wiser ones, those of you in your cubicle as well as those of you calling from your bed.
